Over the last few years, I've been really loving family sessions that focus on who people really are as a family. The interactions, the love, the playfulness can all go into the relationships with the people we call family. They're labeled lifestyle sessions because to me, capturing these moments aren't just about photos of everyone looking good, but capturing the true essence of who you are as a family. Please contact me for a quote.
A wonderful gift for that special someone, or maybe even just a gift for yourself! My sessions aim to show a more subtle, sensual side of a woman. Please contact me for a quote.
what past clients have to say.
Most wedding pictures are very commercialized and do not in fact tell a story. With most of the pictures, you could almost superimpose anyone's face onto the images as they are in essence stock photos. Susan's pictures not only accurately convey the feelings and experiences expressed by those in the pictures, but they do so through her artistic flare. Susan has a great eye for potential and opportunity, among other things, and that is apparent in her images.
We cannot wait to use en pointe again! Chris and I do plan on moving back to CA in 2015 and as soon as we get settled, will be reaching out to you. I don't see the point in ever contacting another photographer.
- Natalia & Chris (Torrey Pines Beach Wedding)
The images are amazing and I can't stop looking at them! You did such a fantastic job! The blog post is also wonderful and tells the whole story beautifully.
Zandi and I are in love with your pictures and we're so grateful that you were able to join us on our wedding adventure. Thanks again for all your hard work and for the incredible artistic vision and voice you brought to the project. We will cherish these photos and memories for the rest of our lives and we can't wait to share them with everyone.

Susan has a great eye and wonderful, artistic ideas. She did a fantastic job on our pictures and made the potentially stressful, post-wedding shot-taking a very calm and casual experience while working quickly and capturing precisely what we wanted.
I’d definitely recommend Susan to a friend. She takes incredible pictures, edits her pictures professionally, presents unique/artistic ideas, and makes the picture taking process so easy and laid back in an otherwise stressful and hurried environment.
- Brian & Elizabeth (Levyland Carlsbad Wedding)
The creativity and quality of our wedding day photos were phenomenal! She captured everyone's personality in the shots and caught some beautiful moments that I would have never seen if it were not for the photo.
We could not have asked for better wedding photos. We have received a lot of compliments on them and their uniqueness.
- Sarah & Derrick (Darlington House Wedding)
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! What a gift! Thank you so much Susan!
David and I have been sitting on the couch looking through picture by picture - smiling, laughing and crying. Such beautiful pictures and very special memories.
- Katie S. (Family Lifestyle Session)

Do you offer multiple lifestyle/maternity/newborn session packages?

Why the name 'en pointe'?
Besides photography, my passion is and has always been dance. En pointe is a ballet term, used to describe when ballerinas go on their toes. I chose this name because it felt very "me" and thought it was appropriate for my business name. :)
